Using Images in Reports, Presentations, Etc. and Citing Them

Images used in multimedia presentations (PowerPoint, etc.) require two (2) acknowledgements:

1. Beneath the image in your presentation, attribute/identify the image with a URL or originator (i.e. the photographer/artist's name). This can be brief, because you will enter the full citation in your Works Cited.

  For example:

Image result for fiona the hippo

2. Cite the image fully in your Works Cited page per the following (MLA). In NoodleTools choose "Website" then "Work of Visual Art" or "Chart/table," "Map" etc.

Contributor(s)Title of Photo/ImageDateName of WebsitePublisherDate of PublicationURL.

For example:

Dumont, Mark. Fiona the Hippo. 18 Feb. 2018. Flickr, images.app.goo.gl/
     PGujwqqnMJnsuyvu9. Accessed 12 Feb. 2020.

Is it ever okay to use Wikipedia?

Wikipedia can sometimes be a good place to start your search
BUT you should never stop there.

DO use Wikipedia for finding basic background info on your topic

DO use it for linking to other more credible sources, from the References or Bibliography on the Wikipedia entry

DON'T use Wikipedia in your Works Cited

DON'T believe all that you find on Wikipedia!

Why use databases?

Do I need to cite this?
