Non-fiction Presentation Possibilities

For the Non-Fiction presentation, take one of the following topics, and “run with it.”  Come up with some interesting information and communicate it through handout, slideshow, audio experience, Youtube clip, or whatever best communicates your information and ideas.  Methods and content will vary according to the topic.  Presentations can be done individually or in groups of up to three people.  Topics can be claimed on a “first come, first serve” basis.

The most important thing is that you come up with a focus - a main point - for your presentation, and organize the supporting details around that main point.

What Makes a Successful Presentation?

1) Limit the subject of your presentation.  The subjects are already limited to some degree, but need to be limited further so that the presentation achieves a measure of depth.  Pick ONE aspect of the topic and dig into it via the St. Xavier Library databases.  (see database suggestions in left column)

2) Come up with a focus—a main point—for your presentation, and state that focus in your THESIS at the BEGINNING of the presentation.

3) Organize the supporting details around the thesis.

4) Each presentation group or individual must submit a works cited page using Noodle Tools.
